Class of 2025 Graduation Information

Families of Seniors,

We are excited to celebrate the Class of 2025 and want to share important information regarding commencement practice and the graduation ceremony on Saturday, June 7, 2025.

 

STUDENT DETAILS:

Commencement Practice (Required for Students)

Commencement practice will take place on Friday, June 6 at 11:00 AM in the main gym. All graduating seniors must arrive no later than 10:45 AM. Please note that practice is required. Any student who does not attend will not be allowed to participate in the graduation ceremony. Students should not wear their caps and gowns for practice.

 

Graduates are expected to dress in semi-formal attire. Please avoid jeans, shorts, mini skirts, mini dresses, athletic shoes, or flip-flops. We highly recommend wearing flat shoes, as graduates will be walking and standing for extended periods.

 

Caps may not be decorated, and only AHS-approved cords and stoles from affiliated groups may be worn.

 

There will be no graduate parking at AHS. Graduates must be dropped off at the school or park at Erskine Elementary (811 W. 60th St.), where shuttles will transport them to AHS. The last shuttle will leave Erskine Elementary at 9:15. Graduates must arrive by 9:30 AM and report to the auxiliary gym for line-up.

 

Each graduate will receive 7 tickets for guests during graduation practice. Due to limited seating, extra tickets are very limited. See Mrs. Crenshaw if you would like extra tickets. If your family does not need all 7 tickets, we kindly ask that you return any extras to be redistributed.

Graduation Ceremony Details

Date & Time: Saturday, June 7, 2025, at 11:00 AM

Location: Anderson High School main gym

Guest Arrival: Doors to Anderson High School will open at 10:00 a.m. There will be no entry to AHS prior to 10:00 a.m. Doors to the main gym will close promptly when the ceremony begins at 11:00 a.m. Late arrivals will be directed to the auditorium for overflow seating. THERE WILL BE NO EXCEPTIONS.

 

For the safety and enjoyment of all attendees, weapons detection units will be in place at the entrance to the graduation ceremony. All guests may be subject to additional security screenings, which could include bag checks and the use of handheld metal detectors.

 

Guest parking will be available in the AHS south lot. Overflow parking for guests will be located at D26 Career Center (325 W. 38th St.). Shuttles will be available for transporting guests to the high school. The last shuttle for guests will depart at 10:40 AM. Please plan accordingly.

 

Again, doors to the main gym will close promptly when the ceremony begins at 11:00 a.m. Late arrivals will be directed to the auditorium for overflow seating. No one will be permitted entry to the gym after the doors close at 11:00 a.m.

 

Only guests with a ticket in hand will be permitted to enter the main gym. Guests without a ticket may watch the livestream from the auditorium.
